Agile Program Manager

As part of the 2020 Goal and mission of 50K tickets a day, the Agile Program Manager is responsible for projects and programs execution enabling delivery of business impact. The person in this role must be able to take principles and guidelines and apply them in creative ways to support the teams and project delivery. You must also be able to communicate throughout the organization on release and team productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Marketing, Operations, Finance and business units in driving alignment, prioritization, and capacity planning and resource allocation
  • Own an Agile program ensuring the overall goals and objectives of the business are met
  • Define, implement, maintain and improve processes, tools, and metrics that govern and support the development and continuous improvement of the agile program
  • Oversee business and technical requirements development, effort and cost estimates, scheduling, design, implementation, testing, approvals, user documentation and customer deliverables
  • Deliver the best leadership, insights, and technology, by finding creative ways of aligning all the Releases within the Agile program to deliver maximum business value
  • Track and report train/program productivity metrics, SDLC Metrics, KPIs and ROI
  • Experience serving as a scrum master and agile coach for high functioning technical teams
  • Budget project costs, Business impact, measure and report actual realized value
  • Deep understanding of agile principles as well as the traditional waterfall approach
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management to understand and prioritize needs
  • Provide program and project management for ongoing strategic projects
  • Oversee the day-to-day progress of the project(s), communications of all activities and release initiatives including managing 3rd Party (Partners and Vendors) dependencies.
  • Practice servant leadership as well as strong soft skills such as listening to meet team needs
  • Identify, manage and escalate issues (blockers) and risks that need support or action
  • Proactively seek opportunities for improving collaboration within and between team
  • Hands-on work with teams in identifying and resolving delivery risks with up-to-the-minute forecasts
  • Keep teams at peak productivity and capacity utilization by resolving and eliminating dependencies to drive continuous value
  • Help kill or deprioritize projects that are not aligned with current state of company priorities

Requirements:

Skills

  • Bachelors in CS, 8-10 year relevant experience
  • Certifications in Agile Methodologies and / or working in an Agile PMO environment
  • Scrum Master Certified (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) required
  • Scaled Agile Inc. certifications preferred (SAFe, SA, SPC)
  • 3-5 years of experience as Program Manager/Release Train Engineer
  • Must have at least 6 years of software development experience (either as Project Manager, Business Analyst, Tester or Developer)
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience leading Agile teams/servicing as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience working in a Scaled Agile environment (multiple teams supporting single product)             

Background

  • Previous experience engaging stakeholders, contributors and technical resources to analyze user needs and resource limitations
  • Background in facilitating discussions of complex, high value IT delivery projects that require the coordination of development work or technology work on multiple platforms to achieve desired functionality
  • Represent teams or facilitate Scrum of Scrums meeting to report impediments for escalation
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies for the team (Planning, Retrospective, Grooming & Review/Demo)
  • Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost effective manner. Act as a conduit to other teams and lines of business with which the team is interacting
  • Track and produce key metrics (e.g., burn-down, burn-up charts, cumulative flow diagram)
  • Should have Agile experience/knowledge of key agile techniques including Kanban, Lean, XP, and Scrum
  • Utilize project coordination expertise and tools such as TFS, FogBugz, Jira, AgileCraft, Rally, VersionOne, etc.
