Vice President, Fraud Prevention

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Vice President of Fraud Prevention.  The successful person will be responsible for minimizing fraud rates and keeping Fareportal in the top quartile of all Online Travel Agencies.  This person will be working closely with the Data Science, Tech, Operations, and the C-suite to surpass industry benchmarks for fraud detection and proactively identify Fraud trends

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Own and Manage Fraud Prevention efforts 
  • Collaborate with departments across the company to reduce frauds and chargebacks  
  • Co-ordinate closely with Data Science teams to reduce frauds and chargebacks 
  • Review causes of chargebacks - both frauds and friendly frauds 
  • Find solutions by collaborating with Operations in Contact Centers across all disciplines (billings, refunds, escalations, waivers) 
  • Continuously improve fraud prevention based on cutting edge knowledge
  • Training - work with Training teams to increase quality and knowledge level in your teams 
  • Eliminate wasteful non-essential cancellations in Fraud Verification teams 
  • Review end-to-end process, do mapping, do automation, reduce overhead and manual dependencies in all 
  • Keep tabs on latest fraud trends by maintaining good relations with industry insiders
  • Motivate, assist and help teams grow and learn

 Required Skills:

  • ​Data Science knowledge (familiarity with SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.)
  • Payments knowledge (understanding steps in e-commerce payment process, authentication vs. validation)
  • Experience using Cardinal commerce, Accertify, Sift Science, or related tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, engineering or computer science (MBA is preferred)
  • 10+ years experience in e-commerce fraud prevention
  • 6+ years of team leadership experience
  • Deep knowledge of payments and fraud prevention tools
